Sherron Williamson, 80, of Durham, North Carolina passed away on May 7, 2025 at her home.

She was raised in Bristol, Tennessee. After graduation from Bristol Tennessee High School, she obtained her BA Cum Laude in English from Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana. After moving to New York City, she later obtained a JD degree from Fordham Law School.

Sherron retired from her management role in the Group Contract Division of Metropolitan Life in 1998 after serving almost 30 years. While living in NYC and later in Edison, New Jersey, Sherron spent much time, and most every summer since retiring, in Boothbay Harbor, Maine where she has maintained a second residence for over 40 years.

Ms. Williamson is survived by her sister, Barbara Williamson Tobias; niece Denise Adrianne Cox and her children, Gavin Lyric Scales, Layla Grace Cox, Kayla Faith Hilliard, and Jayla Hope Hilliard; nephews Gregory Allen Wright; Sidney Garrett Cox and his children, Garrett Monroe Cox and Lillian Odelene Cox; John Landon Wright and his children, Kalin Jerod Bailey, Justin Devon Brown, Whitley Rochelle Wright, Kerrigan Makenzie Bailey, and Andrew Dawson Wright.

She was predeceased by her lifelong partner, Cecelia Widup; her father, Bill Williamson; her mother, Kathleen Lewis Williamson; and her sisters, Charlotte Williamson Cox and Kathleen Williamson Lopez.
