Westport Island Christmas

Tue, 11/27/2018 - 7:45am

The Westport Community Association will hold its annual Christmas Program Sunday, Dec. 9 at 4 p.m. in the historic church on Main Road about 5.6 miles from the bridge. Rowan Etzel, a senior music student at Bowdoin College, will direct the choir and Carol Blake will provide piano accompaniment.

The warm glow of the oil lanterns welcomes all. Come join in singing some traditional carols such as “Joy to the World," “White Christmas," “Silver Bells," “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” and the always fun audience participation carol “Twelve Days of Christmas.” Our Island Choir will also sing several carols including “Christmas Lullaby," “When a Child is Born” and “In the Bleak Mid-Winter.”

There will be readings by Maryanne Seredynski, Cyndy Lewis, Richard DeVries and a benediction from The Rev. Marcia Richardson.

Following the service there will be refreshments next door at the town hall.

All are asked to bring a non-perishable item for Helping Hands.
