Chief Larry Hesseltine reported the following activity for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3:

Arrest

On Feb. 3, James Whitcomb, 42, of Wiscasset was arrested on an outstanding warrant for unpaid fines.

Summonses

On Jan. 28, to Stanley Peterson, 56, of Boothbay, for speed and expired registration.

On Jan. 29, to Laura Humphrey, 32, of Alexandria, Virginia, for speed.

On Jan. 30, to Edwin Stockford, 49, of Wiscasset for expired inspection.

On Jan. 30, to Michael Waters, 64, of Dresden, for proof of insurance.

On Jan. 31, to Edward Dardis, 69, of Carabasset Valley, for expired registration.

On Feb. 1, to David Jewell, 55, of Woolwich for proof of insurance.

Accidents

On Jan. 28, police took a report of a car vs. deer accident on Bradford Road.

On Jan. 29, police investigated a motor vehicle accident in which a truck slid into a mailbox.

On Jan. 31, police investigated a motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle driven by Everett Grimes, 80, of Wiscasset, hit a bus driven by Donald Barter, 81, of Jefferson, when crossing Route 1 from Marketplace Plaza to Shaw's.

Police responded to 124 calls for service, including 25 traffic or vehicle-related, 49 property checks, several welfare and compliance checks, process services, and escort-transport services, an investigation of a report of theft, an investigation of several reports for police information, citizen assists, a juvenile problem, an investigation of reports of trespassing and suspicious activity, medical emergencies, and a fire call.
