Wiscasset Police Blotter July 1-7

Chief Larry Hesseltine reported the following activity for July 1-7 in Wiscasset:

Arrests

On July 4, Dale Skillin, 66, of Wiscasset was arrested for Obstructing Report of a Crime, Criminal Restraint, Domestic Violence Assault, and Assault.

On July 5, Nathan Brewer, 30, of Nobleboro was arrested for Criminal Threatening and Criminal Trespass.

On July 6, Dale Skillin, 66, of Wiscasset was arrested for Violating Condition of Release.

Summons

Ryan Saunders, 26, of Basingstone, UK for 30+ mph over the speed limit.

Accidents

On July 1,  a 2007 Toyota driven by Evelyn Varney, 53, of Woolwich was stopped at a stop sign waiting for traffic. Thomas Teele, 64, of Bremen, driving a 2016 Ford, thought Varney was going to pull out and started to go striking the rear of the Toyota.

On July 1, a 2016 Toyota driven by Dorothy Sproul, 80, of Wiscasset was traveling north on Gardiner Road. Debra Miclette, 60, of Alna, driving a 2014 Jeep, was traveling south on Gardiner Road and attempted to turn into Maine Coast Lab, striking Sproul and causing Sproul to leave the roadway striking a mailbox. Miclette claimed she did not see the other vehicle.

On July 3, police responded to a crash at the intersection of Route 1 and Old Bath Road. A 2010 Dodge driven by James Oliver, 56, of Jefferson was northbound stopped making a left turn. A 2015 BMW operated by Lawrence Lovig, 76, of Phippsburg was northbound and swerved but struck the Dodge from behind.
