The evening of Friday, Aug. 31 began the Boothbay Harbor Fest.

The Mystic Mermaid kicked off the Taste of Local Flavor event with live music from David Gagne and his band. Pier 1 Pizza held the second tasting with Shane McNear performing solo. The first day of tasting and cocktails was rounded out by Mine Oyster with Boston-based band Hayley Jane and the Primates performing in the upstairs lounge. 

Sunday, Sept. 2 Tastes of Local Flavor were held at Boothbay Lobster Wharf: Taste: a cream based Lobster Stew (quite yummy); Cocktail: Cold  River vodka Bloody Mary.

At Whale’s Tale at the Carousel Marina, the Taste of Local Flavor was Jack’s Seafood Chowder; the Cocktail: Lime & Basil Sangria created by bartender Jenny who used pinot grigio, Cold River vodka, Grand Mariner, a bit of Sprite and simple syrup, fresh lime and basil. 

The  Cod’s Head Taste was make-it-yourself Shark Tacos on soft tortillas, with shark fresh off the boat that morning, refried beans, cilantro, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream and lettuce;  The Cod’s Head Cocktail: the Bauer Breeze created by bar manager Natashia Bauer: blueberry vodka and vodka, Maine blueberry redux, simple syrup, fresh mint and  blueberries served in a lemon drop sugar rimmed glass. 

On Monday, Sept. 3, Boothbay Harbor Inn hosted the Taste of Labor Day event which consisted of a three course tasting and live music from Ben Betts.
