New Hope for Women is hosting a dinner, Dine for Hope, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 at Penobscot Language School, 28 Gay Street in Rockland.
The dinner is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) and will include a brief talk by Kelly O’Connor, New Hope for Women’s Education and Outreach Director, followed by a dinner of chicken Marsala (or vegetarian option), salad and dessert.
In her talk, Ms. O’Connor will provide an overview of New Hope for Women's services, primarily focusing on the agency’s expanding and evolving violence prevention program. This will include New Hope's more recent shift toward incorporating a social change advocacy model into all levels of its work.
Reservations are required to Dine for Hope. Please call New Hope for Women at 207-594-2128 x113 or send your check to NHFW, P.O. Box A, Rockland, Maine 04841. The cost is $40 per person. Net proceeds benefit New Hope for Women’s work to eradicate domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.
