Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 252 calls for service Oct. 8 through Oct. 15. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 11,595 calls for service.
A 15-year-old male juvenile from Alna was issued summonses Oct. 12 for Operating Vehicle without License and Theft by Unauthorized Use of Property, in Boothbay, by Deputy Chase Bosse.
Elisabeth Kershaw, 64, of Rockland was arrested Oct. 9 on two warrants from Rockland District Court for Unpaid Fines, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.
Derek A. Leigh, 34, of Washington was arrested Oct. 15 for Operating under the Influence and Violating Condition of Release, on Main Street, Whitefield, by Sgt. Kevin Dennison.
On Oct. 8, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Timothy F. Martone, 30, of Round Pond. Mr. Martone was operating his 2009 Subaru Forester southbound when a deer crossed the road in front of him and was struck. As a result, his vehicle sustained damage to the front, including the hood and headlights. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 9, an accident occurred on Route 126 in Whitefield involving Donald C. York, 73, of Gardiner. Mr. York was backing his 2006 Ford Taurus in Highland Cemetery when he backed into a tree. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 10, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Christine Slattery, 61, of East Boothbay. Ms. Slattery was operating her 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser southbound when she struck a deer traveling west to east. As a result, her vehicle sustained functional damage to the front. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 10, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Melissa K. Hernandez, 53, of Rockland. Ms. Hernandez was operating her 2011 Jeep Patriot southbound when a deer crossed the roadway and was struck, causing damage to the front corner of her vehicle. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 11, an accident occurred on River Road in Edgecomb involving Earl C. Farnsworth, 75, of Newcastle. Mr. Farnsworth was operating his 2009 Subaru Forester eastbound and as he was proceeding forward, a deer entered the travel lane from a wooded area and was struck. The deer then ran off from the scene. Deputy Daniel Sceviour was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 11, an accident occurred on Bath Road in Wiscasset involving Michael E. Orr, 49, of Wiscasset and Robin L. Vandergroef, 65, of Newton, New Jersey. Ms. Vandergroef was operating her 2017 Toyota RAV4 northbound, when she stopped in heavy traffic, waiting to proceed forward. Mr. Orr was operating his 2012 Chevrolet 1500 behind Vandergroef’s vehicle and did not observe Vandergroef stopped in traffic. As a result, Orr struck the rear of her vehicle. Deputy Daniel Sceviour was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 11, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Raymond St. Pierre, 76, of Sidney and Patrick J. Lane, 58, of Augusta. Mr. Lane stopped his 1996 Toyota Camry in traffic, waiting to turn right. As Mr. Lane was stopped, Mr. St. Pierre, who was operating his 2018 Chevrolet Impala behind Lane’s vehicle, attempted to improperly pass Lane’s vehicle on the right side. As St. Pierre was improperly passing, Lane (who had the right of way) attempted to turn right, but was struck by St. Pierre’s vehicle. Deputy Caleb Fortin was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 11, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Angela K. Hassengpflug, 55, of Bristol and Nicole R. Vess, 21, of Waldoboro. Ms. Vess backed her 2010 Chrysler Town and Country into a parking area of a private parking lot, parked legally and was still sitting within the vehicle (which was not running). Ms. Hassengpflug was backing her 2019 Subaru Crosstrek from another parking space and attempting to turn around and exit the parking area. As Ms. Hassengpflug was backing out, she misjudged the clearance and as a result, she backed into Vess’ vehicle. Deputy Daniel Sceviour was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 11, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Shannon Klemanski, 42, of Sabattus. Ms. Klemanski was operating her 2012 Chrysler 200 northbound and as she was proceeding forward, a deer entered the travel lane from a wooded area and was struck. Deputy Daniel Sceviour was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 11, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Sergei T. Pepper, 26, of Whitefield. Mr. Pepper was operating his 2019 Toyota Tacoma northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the right side and was struck. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 12, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Jessica Drisko, 25, of Jefferson and Brit A. Raven, 45, of Bristol. Ms. Drisko was operating her 2005 Subaru Impreza southbound behind Ms. Raven’s 1996 Toyota when Ms. Raven slowed to make a left turn into a business parking lot. As a result, Ms. Drisko failed to slow down, causing the front of her vehicle to strike the rear of Raven’s vehicle. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.
