This is awfully strange. A couple years ago I begged all of you to vote for us in Downeast Magazine's "Best of Maine" contest and we didn't even make the top 3.

This year we won it without me even knowing we were in the running.

Don't get me wrong. We're very proud to have won the award, and we dutifully bought the plaque for $145 for posterity's sake. I encourage you to get your own copy of Downeast Magazine to verify it's not just another one of my blatant, cynical lies.

Or just scan through it in the supermarket checkout line when the person in front of you is paying for their bottle of Thunderbird with a mixture of returnables, change, and a personal check.
