Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Several accidents
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 627 calls for the week of Oct. 10 to Oct. 24 and year to date, LCSO has responded to 14,989 calls.
On Oct. 22, Corey E. Johnson, 28, of Friendship was issued a summons for Operating while License is Suspended or Revoked, on Egypt Road, Damariscotta, by Deputy John Braley.
On Oct. 22, Tyler L. Abbott, 40, of Waldoboro was issued a summons for Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident, on Augusta Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Justin Drake.
On Oct. 9, Jacob W. Tillman, 24, of Wiscasset was arrested on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for Unpaid Fines, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Chase Bosse.
On Oct. 17, Jesse Bagley, 28, of Newcastle was arrested on a South Portland warrant for Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, on Sheepscot Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.
On Oct. 17, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road (roundabout) in Boothbay involving Ralph L. Tirrell, 91, of Boothbay Harbor and Jordan R. Coffin, 25, of Westport Island. Mr. Coffin was rounding the roundabout in his 2003 Ford F350 when Mr. Tirrell failed to yield the right of way when entering the roundabout in his 2001 Honda Accord. As a result, Mr. Coffin struck Tirrell’s vehicle. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 19, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Claire I. Magnant, 85, of Acushnet, Massachusetts and Cynthia J. Martin, 24, of Boothbay. Ms. Magnant was operating her 2005 Toyota Matrix northbound and slowing to make a right turn. Ms. Martin was traveling behind Magnant in her 2016 Ford Focus and due to a sudden slow down by Magnant to make the right turn, Martin struck the rear of her vehicle. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 20, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Whitefield involving Ronald J. Finlay, 24, of Wiscasset. Mr. Finlay was operating his 2005 Ford Explorer westbound when a deer crossed the road from the left side and was struck. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 20, an accident occurred on Back River Road in Boothbay involving Jacob E. Morton, 17, of Boothbay. Mr. Morton was operating his 2008 Volkswagen Jetta southbound, traveling over the posted speed limit. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway on the right. Morton then over corrected and crossed the center line and exited the roadway on the left side, where his vehicle came to final rest on the passenger side in a ditch. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 20, an accident occurred on Bayview Road in Nobleboro involving Mark C. Manowski, 39, of Newcastle and Taylor M. Briggs, 66, of Newcastle. Mr. Manowski was operating his 2017 GMC northbound when he stated he reached down for a power cable and when he looked back up, he was unable to avoid striking Ms. Briggs, who was operating her bicycle, with the right front passenger corner of his vehicle. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 21, an accident occurred on Pond Road in Newcastle involving Kimberly C. Toscano, 39, of Newcastle. Ms. Toscano was operating her 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck, causing front end damage to her vehicle. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 22, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Tyler L. Abbott, 40, of Waldoboro. Mr. Abbott was operating his 2011 Nissan Pathfinder southbound when a deer entered the roadway. Mr. Abbott swerved to avoid striking the deer, which resulted in his vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a telephone pole. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
