Setting the bar high

Mon, 11/06/2017 - 3:30pm

    Dear Editor:

Recently, my wife, who I met in Wiscasset 46 years ago, and I had the opportunity to spend a few days in the Midcoast region. Of course, it necessitated a few days in Wiscasset. What a friendly town!

Thank you to the clerk at Down East Energy Mobil who put the lid on the coffee cup, the tellers at Camden National Bank who greeted me like a regular — even though I only stop about once a year — Sprague's on the wharf and their staff and their patience with everyone lining up for a last of the season meal, the police officers directing us around a construction project with a big smile and  a wave, the students at The Chewonki Foundation who introduced themselves and welcomed us warmly to their campus, and to Sarah's Café for an A-plus meal. And the reception was no different when I was there in the dark shortly after the big storm So thanks for the good time and keep setting the bar high.

PS. I bought my first car ... a Ford Falcon ... at Haggett’s Garage. I would just as soon see the building stay in one piece.
