Opus One Big Band concert to benefit WIscasset music program
Dust off your dancing shoes and practice your best swing moves, the Opus One Big Band is coming to town. Join the Wiscasset Schools Music Department on Sunday, March 11 at 5 p.m. as they present this 18-piece band at Wiscasset Middle High School, 272 Gardiner Rd., Wiscasset.
The band is made up of musicians from around the state who bring their talents together to make music for the benefit of libraries, churches, schools, and other nonprofits. Student musicians from WMHS Band will join the professionals for a few numbers which is an exciting experience for all.
Trumpet player Scott Davis said of the upcoming event, “We’ll be taking the paint off the walls.”
Tickets available at the door: $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students; $20 for families. People are invited to sit back and enjoy the concert or to get up and dance if they like. There will be a raffle and bake sale as well and all proceeds are to benefit Wiscasset Schools Music Department.
