Wiscasset Police Blotter Feb. 12-18
The following activity was reported by Chief Jeff Lange for Feb. 12-18.
On Feb. 13, Zachary Cannon, 25, of Damariscotta was arrested for Failure to Appear.
On Feb. 14, Reginald Lee, 70, of Westport Island was arrested for Operating After Suspension or Revocation.
On Feb. 12, James Thomas, 49, of Plymouth was summonsed for Operating After Suspension or Revocation.
On Feb. 12, a backhoe operated by Gardner Leighton, 66, of Wiscasset backed into a Jeep owned by David Grant of Monmouth; police responded to a hit and run accident on Chewonki Neck Road; and police responded to a hit and run accident at the Schooner Inn on Route 1.
On Feb. 13, a FedEx truck slid into a vehicle owned by Deborah Tong on Upland Road while her car was parked in her driveway.
On Feb. 18, an accident was reported on Fowle Hill Road involving a town plow truck. An investigation is ongoing; and an accident was reported on Birch Point Road and Westport Bridge Road involving a plow truck. An investigation is ongoing.
There were 66 calls for service. Of those, 27 were traffic or vehicle-related; 32 were property or burglar alarm checks; five were juvenile issues or welfare checks, and three were medical emergencies. There was one assault and there were two cases of non-domestic fighting, three cases of suspicious activity, one theft at the pumps at Irving, one lost property, a 9-1-1 investigation, and several citizen assists. Police also participated in community policing at Winter Fest.
