    Marjorie “Marcia” Lorraine Rice, 79, of George Wright Road, Woolwich died peacefully at home Aug. 7, 2018.

    She was born in Bath on July 14, 1939, a daughter of Anthony S. and Margaret (Reilly) Dodge.

    She attended a one room schoolhouse in Woolwich and attended Morse High School. She married Maurice Nelson Rice in January of 1957. She lived in Boothbay Harbor, Florida then moved to Beacon Street in Bath where they started their family.

    Rick was born Oct. 28, 1930 in Ridgewood, New Jersey to the late Flora (Schoeder) and Alfred Wood. He lived his early years in Ramsey, New Jersey.

    Mark Alan Foye, 61, of Willow Lane, Wiscasset died Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

    He was born in Damariscotta on Jan. 19, 1957, a son of Maurice A. and Audrey L. (McGee) Foye.

    He attended Wiscasset schools and graduated from Wiscasset High School. He was a worm digger and then employed by Bath Iron Works as a welder for 40 years. He was married to Paula Foye for 30 years. He coached T-ball and was a Cub Scout leader.

    Dennis was the son of Fidele (Phil) Peters and wife Janet Pinkham Peters, born on Dec. 8, 1954. He attended all local Boothbay schools.

    The most interesting man in the world has gone to meet his maker. John Buck, 76, passed away Aug. 7, 2018 at St. Andrews Village, Boothbay Harbor, Maine. He was a teacher, a shopkeeper and an adventurer. When asked about the safety hazards of the old clunker he used to drive, he said, “I like to live on the edge.” And that he did.

    Gerard Patrick “Rod” Gorman,90, of Boothbay Harbor died July 20 at the Maine Veterans Hospice Unit at Togus.

    He was born Dec. 6, 1927 in Clifton, New Jersey to Gerard Gorman and Lucille Colca Gorman. Rod attended the University of California, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutgers University, Chaffey Community College,Appraisal Institute, and the University of Southern Maine. He was a veteran serving in the Marines during the Korean War.

    Mary Frances Dodge Brewer, 77, of Murray Hill, East Boothbay, died July 15, 2018.

    She was born in Damariscotta, Maine Jan. 19, 1941 to Harry A. Dodge and Ernestine Munro Dodge.

    In her preschool years, they made their home in Schenectady, New York, where her father was a pharmacist. He died when she was very young, and she and her mother returned to make their home with her maternal grandparents, John and Laura Gamage Munro, in Round Pond.

    John Nicholas Meisten III, 76, of Boothbay, Maine died June 30, 2018 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center after an eight-year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He had become acutely ill while traveling from Arizona to his home in Maine only one week before his death.

    Jean Elliot Thayer, 89, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2018 in Ft. Myers, Florida following a brief illness. She was born to Edward J. and Elma Elliot on Aug. 15, 1928 in Thomaston, Maine where she attended high school and was captain of the girls’ basketball team. Following graduation she attended Nasson College in Springvale, Maine, majoring in nutrition. While there she met Wendell Bragg Thayer of Sanford, who in short order gave her life-long love of snow skiing.

    Richard Carroll Benner, 88, of Franklin, New Hampshire died at Mountain Ridge Center on June 25, 2018.

    He was born in Boothbay Harbor, Maine on Nov. 14, 1929 the son of Willard Ross Benner and Susie (Barter) Benner.

    Dick was raised in Boothbay Harbor, served in the U.S. Army for 25 years living in many places, home and abroad, including two tours in Vietnam, before retiring in 1972.

    Jack C. Weaver Jr., of Westport, Maine and the Philippines went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 25, 2018. He was 57.

    Son of the late Jack C. Weaver Sr. and Barbara J. (Hubbard) Wendt, he was born on April 12, 1961 in Lowville, New York.

    Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from the United States Navy in 2000, as Petty Officer 1st Class.

    Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 23, 1926, Harriet grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, near former Norembega Park where famous musicians and big bands performed at the Totem Pole Ballroom. For years, she would surprise her children by knowing all or most of the words to obscure or classic songs.

    He was born the son of Guy and Dorothy Ribble on April 18, 1926

    Guy attended Tufts University where he earned his engineering degree and he also was in the Navy ROTC.

    He served in the U.S. Navy following college until beginning his long successful career as an aerospace engineer at NASA.

    It is with deep sadness we mourn the passing of Montgomery Atwater Woolson, Jr. on Nov. 3, 2017.

    The son of Lucina and Montgomery Atwater Woolson Sr. born in Waterbury, Connecticut, he was 76 years old.

    Monty grew up in Woodbury, Connecticut and later went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in 1963 from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine where he met his future wife, Susan (Cottrell) Woolson. Monty played varsity baseball and basketball for Bates.

    Phyllis J. Van Siclen, 86, of Ridgefield, Connecticut, formerly of St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor, died peacefully at home May 29, 2018.

    Phyllis was born to Carl and Mildred (Behring) Johnson in Brooklyn, New York. After attending elementary school in New York City, her family moved to New Hampshire and she graduated from Pembroke Academy in 1949. She went on to study English Literature and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1953.

    It is with profound sadness that the family of Donald Benson McFarland announces his passing at his home in Gardiner on June 4, 2018, with his wife, children and brother by his side.  He was 68.  Don had been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in March of 2005. He courageously battled this cancer for 13 years.

Following the mass, there will be a celebration of his life for family and friends at his summer home on Lobsterman’s Way (off of Murray Hill Road) in East Boothbay.
