    Marjorie Emery died peacefully on Aug. 21, 2017 at the young age of 100.

    There will be a private family burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 at the Wayne Community United Methodist Church, 22 Old Winthrop Road, Wayne, Maine.

    Dorothy Brewer Delafield Watts died Aug. 20, 2017.

    She was born July 28, 1922 in Linekin, daughter of Fred and Mabel Brewer.

    She graduated from William Hall High School in West Hartford, Connecticut and the Golden School of Beauty Culture in Portland, Maine.

    She married James Delafield of Duquesne, Pennsylvania, who died in World War II. She later married Ralph Watts of Boothbay Harbor.

    Ruth Van Voast died peacefully on August 16, 2017. 
    Ruth lived on McKown Point Road in West Boothbay Harbor from 1961 to 1993.  Ruth was devoted to her family.  She had a successful home business making yacht interiors.  She enjoyed sailing with her husband from their home on Townsend Gut in their 40' Hinckley and later their 30' Etchells 22.

    Mary Elizabeth Cahill, 90, of Jackson, New Hampshire passed away peacefully at her summer home in East Boothbay, Maine on August 17, 2017.  She was the wife of James D. Cahill Jr., who died in 2000.  Mary was the daughter of William Boland and Mary Elizabeth Linnehan.

    Richard E. Williams, 81, died peacefully at his residence in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, on the morning of Aug. 12, 2017.

    Richard attended local schools, and was a truck driver for 50 years, “Same company – different names.” He was employed by Lewis Oil Company for 38 years, and later, Reny Construction for 20 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed going to Florida in the winter, and loved to travel. He especially enjoyed going anywhere for a “ride”, and had a passion for “Up North.”

    Kyle P. Closson, 49, died Aug. 5, 2017.

    He was predeceased by his father, Jerry Closson.

    He is survived by his mother, Donna Closson, of Boothbay Harbor; his brothers, Wayne and his wife Mary, and Todd Closson; sister, Amy Shaw and her husband Robert. He will also be missed by his nephews and nieces, Lewis and Michael Closson, Megan Gill and JoAnna and Robert Shaw.

    There will be no services per Kyle’s request.

    Robert A. Shepard

    Robert Andrews Shepard, son of medical missionaries Lorrin Andrews Shepard and Virginia Moffat, was born in Gaziantep, Turkey in 1923. He died peacefully on July 26 in Boothbay Harbor.

    Robert attended school in Boothbay Harbor and Deerfield Academy. He earned a B.S. and a PhD in chemistry at Yale University. During World War II he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Oakridge, Tennessee.

Mr. Hoskeer was the son of Victor and Marguerite Hoskeer and was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, and served with the U. S. Army in Germany.

    She was born September 10, 1925 in Lewiston, Maine the daughter of Walter C. and Alice Mae (Ablett) Scott Sr.

    In her earlier years, Barbara lived in Lewiston and had attended schools there and business college. She later went on to graduate from the Boston Conservatory of Music.

    Frederick William Helming Jr., 93, of Gorham and Southport, Maine, died on June 12 at his home on Southport Island.

    Fred was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on December 28, 1923, the older son of Frederick William and Augusta (Theer) Helming. He graduated from Crosby High School in 1941 and from the University of Connecticut in 1944.  Fred served in the U.S. Navy for two years during World War II.

    Pastor Jim was the pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Manchester, Connecticut for 29 years before retiring to Boothbay Harbor in 2003 and then serving as interim pastor in many churches throughout Maine. His obituary appeared in an earlier issue.

    Loren B. Sibley, 82, of Bristol, died May 28, 2017 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

    Born on July 19, 1934 in Vanceboro, Maine, he was a longtime teacher and basketball coach at Wiscasset High School, and the husband of Dorothy (Gibbons) Sibley.

    Doris Lang Pendleton, 87, of Wiscasset died May 25, 2017 at her home.

    She was born in Bath on February 13, 1930, the daughter of Hazel Dubar. She attended Bath schools and Morse High School.

    While growing up she worked at Hazel’s Grocery on High Street in Bath. She went to Western Union School in Nashua, New Hampshire and was later employed at the Bath office after graduation.

    Cora Belle Lowery, 93, died peacefully on May 27, 2017, with loving family by her side, at Boothbay Green where she had lived since December 2015.

    Cora was born January 27, 1924 in Boothbay to Eugene and Suzy Lewis and lived the greatest part of her life on Barters Island. She was the ninth child of 11, and grew up on the family farm, going to local schools.

    He was the son of the late Isabel Amman and Forrest H. Thompson. He was a native of Dayton, Ohio and resided in New Orleans, Louisiana since 1970. After his retirement, he moved to Wiscasset.
