Let the US win
Dear Editor:
Countries grow to greatness with brave and resolute leaders supported by citizens united in a national pride. Countries, once great, then fail. They grow fat, lazy, and corrupt, and rot from within. Occasionally great leaders arise, think Lincoln and Churchill who saved their nations. Sometimes there are visionaries like Monroe and Roosevelt, who kept enemies out of the Americas. More recently, Eisenhower promoted unity and Christianity, built the interstate system, strengthened our military, and aligned the US strategically to win the Cold War.
Two years ago, I could not envision a success path for our nation. We were globally challenged by a united China and Russia making inroads into the Americas, even inside US borders. Millions of immigrants streamed in requiring massive physical and monetary resources. We had civil unrest as many in the populace joined organized protests on highly publicized failures in our justice system. Our legal system was being used as a political tool. Marxism was promoting hate of neighbor to neighbor, race to race, Democrat to Republican, and even to hate of oneself (our country).
Today I see a great visionary and a brave and bold leader in Donald Trump. I see the shadows of Lincoln, Churchill, Roosevelt, and Eisenhower. He is bending the curve on internal decay and external events. Just as Eisenhower set us up to win the Twentieth Century, President Trump is charting a course to win the Twenty-First Century. Support him, let the US win.
