Seahawks Nation LIVE

Sat, 02/10/2018 - 7:00am

Thursday night, BRTV had another first—broadcasting live online, on cable 1301, Facebook and Roku from the Porter Memorial Gymnasium in the Boothbay Region High School.  Taking over two hours to move and setup the control room equipment to the stage of the gym, the BRTV Station Manager and volunteers (including high school students) operated not only the usual “crows nest” camera, but also a wireless “floorcam” and the sound and video control equipment and software while sitting right next to the BRTV announcers for the game, Smith Climo and Tommy Nickerson.  We’ll will be live again this Saturday at 2:00 at the Lady Seahawks game against Monmouth in the Mountain Valley Conference championship game leading up to the state playoffs and hopefully—all the way to the state North Region championship game.  If you’ve been following the changes at Boothbay Region TV and Media Center, you already know we’ve been increasing our live broadcasts.  Events that are covered live range from civic government meetings and talk shows to high school sports. All productions are volunteer based and we’re always looking for individuals to help in any way they can.  The Boothbay TV annual operating budget depends heavily on donations and underwriting.
