Bands for Books, the annual fundraising event of the Friends of the Wiscasset Library, will be celebrating its fifth year this fall.

The event, a combination cocktail party, dance, and silent auction, is returning to its original home at the picturesque Marianmade Farm on the Sheepscot River at 155 Federal St. in Wiscasset.

It takes place on Monday, Sept. 3, Labor Day, from 5 to 7 p.m. The lively and talented band, Salty Dogs, will be performing once again.

The generous local sponsors include Ames Hardware, First Federal Savings, The First National Bank, and private patron Jenny Spaur. The money raised will be used towards refurbishing the Children’s Room at the library and for children’s programming.

So, mark your calendars and plan to have some fun while helping to support Wiscasset Public Library.
