BBH Opera House: Don Campbell Band

Event has passed

Don Campbell has a unique and uncanny ability to sing comfortably in the tenor range of Vince Gill, Chris Isaak or Dan Fogelberg, and go easily into the sub bass vocal level range of country greats Josh Turner and Johnny Cash. His music resides in the home of “American crossover” akin to the Eagles and John Cougar Mellencamp.

Originally scheduled to perform with his band on Sept. 16 at the Opera House in Boothbay Harbor, but postponed due to the hurricane threat for that day, the Don Campbell Band is now scheduled to play on Saturday, Nov. 4.

Maine musician Don Campbell won a $50,000.00 Grand Prize at Nashville’s Grand Ol’ Opry with his original music, a Grand Prize custom Gibson Les Paul guitar from Jim Beam’s Back Room Band Search, and he’s a six-time winner of the title, “Maine’s Best Singer-Songwriter” from the Maine Sunday Telegram’s Annual Reader’s Poll. He has also received recognition for his Double CD Release, “Kites To Fly – Celebrating The Music of Dan Fogelberg.” Don is a multi-instrumentalist and plays acoustic guitar, piano, B3 Organ, bass, electric guitar, nylon string guitar, mandolin and harmonica and will appear in Boothbay Harbor with his full band.

Tickets for the original concert will be honored. Those wishing to purchase advance tickets ($25) should visit the box office at 86 Townsend Ave., or call 207-633-5159. Regular tickets are available online ($30) at boothbayoperahouse.com and at the door. Doors for seating open at 7 p.m. and the band goes on stage at 7:30.
