Donna Jean Winchenbach Berkeley, 72, died of brain cancer on March 30, 2015 at Sussman House Hospice in Rockport.

She was born in Waldoboro on July 11, 1942, daughter of Carl and Anna Winchenbach. She attended Waldoboro schools and graduated from schooling in Boston, then went on to become a nurse.

On January 9, 1966, she married Gordon Dale Berkeley and had two children.

Donna lived and did nursing in numerous places, including Georgia, Illinois, New York, New Hampshire and Maine, but her favorite location was Camden, where her Seventh Day Adventist church and many friends are located. She was a devoted Christian.

She enjoyed reading, lawn sales, organizing her photographs, family and church gatherings. She also enjoyed her cat, Buffy, and listening to her many albums, especially George Jones and Elvis Presley. She also like to eat at Moody’s Diner in Waldoboro.

She came from a big family of 13 brothers and sisters from two marriages.

She was predeceased by her sister, Lorraine Doris Winchenbach Fowler, on July 16, 1981, as well as her mother, father, stepmother Gloria, Freddy Lee, and nephew Ken Fowler Jr.

Survivors include: her daughter, Carla (Allen) Carlson of New Mexico; son, Gordon Scot Berkeley of Portland; granddaughters, Nicole and Kelsey Carlson; two grandsons, Justin and Jason Rich; sisters, Claire (Earle) Clifford of Boothbay, Penny Hinkeley of Whitefield and Sally Pulsifer of Limington; brothers, Sammy Winchenbach of Jefferson, David Beaucage of Damariscotta, Richard Lee of Warren, Donald, Alfred and Peter Lee of Waldoboro, Paul Lee of St. Paul, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held April 11 at 3 p.m. at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 132 Camden Road, Rockport, with Elder Dan Fickett officiating. Burial will be at Sweetland Cemetery in Waldoboro.
