Dwight E. Brown

Dwight E. Brown died at home on Aug. 28, 2014 with his family by his side.

Dwight was born on July 30, 1955 at St. Andrews Hospital as the oldest of five children of Sharon Brewer Burke and Richard Earl Brown. As a child he attended Southport Central School and then graduated from Boothbay Region High School in 1973. Dwight married Johnna Alyce Begin in September of 1976 and together they raised three children, Scott, Tammy and John. 

Dwight was a constant adventurer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, lobstering, canoeing, camping, riding his trike, and spending time with family. He enjoyed anything that the great outdoors had to offer.

Dwight was a truck driver his entire life. He started driving for Lobsterman’s Co-op at the age of 17 and then went on to drive over the road when his son Scott turned 18. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren when he was not over the road. Dwight adored his animals, Jasper, Angel and Brandy just to name a few. 

On November 27, 2004 he married Noreen Sullivan Brown and adopted three daughters and one son, Amy, Tiffany, Shilo and Shane, as well as four more grandchildren.

Dwight was predeceased by his parents, Sharon Burke and Earl Brown, his brothers, Scott Brown and Deane Brown, and his niece, Sarah Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Noreen Sullivan Brown; stepmother, Sandy Brown; brother, Steven Brown and wife Kim, sister, Arlene Cole; stepsister, Jenny Hutchins; son, Scott Brown and wife Kacy; stepson, John Blackman and wife Dalisha; stepdaughter, Tammy Blackman and wife Jana Morehouse; stepdaughter, Shilo Griffin and husband Bill; stepdaughter, Tiffany Tressler and husband Dustin; stepdaughter, Amy Lewis and boyfriend Tim Sinagra; stepson, Shane Harrison; his grandchildren, Tristan Blackman, Killian Blackman, Jacob Bishopp, Savannah Sedivy, Conner Dover, California Brown, Faith Harrison, Aryanna Carlson, Xandria Justice and Thomas Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews; many extended Brown family members; and many close friends. 

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Mahesh Pandey and Jen Hazen, our Patient Navigator and all the staff at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Lewiston.

At Dwight’s request, on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m., immediate family will be departing for a memorial boat ride to Linekin Bay to spread his ashes. Family and friends will then gather at Barrett’s Park for a potluck meal and celebration of his life.
