Elaine Marie Wyman, 66, died December 14, 2013 at her home in Wiscasset, surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 15, 1947 in Damariscotta, to Walton and Cynthia Thompson Dodge. She grew up in Edgecomb and graduated from Lincoln Academy, the class of 1965. She later attended nursing school.

Elaine began working in several local nursing homes and hospitals as a CNA. She later worked for the state of Maine for over 20 years as a public safety clerk.

Elaine was grateful to be a breast cancer survivor. She loved playing board games, motorcycling, taking long walks, shopping and eating seafood. She spent a lot of time with her mother and sisters traveling the country side and taking shopping trips. Elaine was known for her neatness and took that meaning to a whole new level and prided herself on her home. She enjoyed watching “Wheel of Fortune” and spending time with her pride and joy, her grandson Cody. She loved animals, especially cats and was a proud member of the Moose Club, originally in Clinton, Iowa, then later moved her membership to Maine.

She was predeceased by her father, Walton Dodge and by her brother, Wayne Dodge.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 44 years, Stuart Wyman of Wiscasset; son, Shane Wyman of Wiscasset; mother, Cynthia Dodge of Southport; sister, Janice Hughes of Ratcliff, Kentucky; aunt, Ramona Gaudette of Southport; uncle, Edgar Thompson of Augusta; special aunt, Arrolyn Gilbert of New Harbor; stepchildren, Kelly Busler of Brunswick and Jeffrey Wyman of Portsmouth, Va.; grandchildren, Cody Wyman of Wiscasset and Amanda Wright of Bath.

A graveside service to celebrate Elaine’s life will be held in the spring of 2014, with a date and time to be announced later.
