Evered Leon Trask, 74, of Boothbay Harbor died Sunday morning, July 22, 2012 at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor.

He was born November 25, 1937 at his family home on Lobster Cove, Boothbay Harbor to Everett Leon Trask and Carrie Hallowell Trask. He was preceded in death by a twin brother who died at birth. His beloved wife Caroll died in 1995. 

He attended the East Side Grammar School and was a graduate of Boothbay Harbor High School in the class of 1955. Evered had a keen interest in the region’s history, particularly family genealogy, which he willingly shared with all who would listen.

A lifelong lobsterman, Evered enjoyed supplementing his income in his retirement by collecting returnable bottles and cans making many friends on his daily walks accompanied by his faithful dog, Blueberry. Before Romar Bowling Lanes were mechanized, as a boy, Evered was employed setting the bowling pins while he was in high school. He worked on his parents' lobster boat until he took over the boat after his mother’s death and his father’s retirement.

During the past year, he resided in a comfortable apartment in the former Brian Rowe’s Store provided by Pam and Alan Burke. Thank you especially to Pam and Alan and to his many friends who supported him in a number of ways during his illness. Evered valued the Catholic Church lunches and took great pleasure in sharing the many cards, calls, and visits he received from friends far and wide.

He is survived by his cousins, Alice Trask Fossett and Evelyn Trask Racz; aunt, Cynthia Hallowell Orne, all of Boothbay Harbor, and their families.

A service to celebrate Evered’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at The First United Methodist Church of Boothbay Harbor. A collation will be held at the church immediately following the service. A boat parade will follow the collation. Friends are welcome to watch the boat parade at the Fishermen’s Memorial, Atlantic Ave., Boothbay Harbor.
