Maine native Scott Moreau brings his hit one-man musical “Late and Alone: An Intimate Evening with Johnny Cash” to the Lincoln Theater on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. 

Scott Moreau has traveled the world performing as Johnny Cash for nearly a decade. In 2012, he wrote an original show, “Walkin’ The Line,” based on interviews, anecdotes, and portions of Johnny’s autobiography “Cash,” featuring more than 25 of Johnny’s best-loved songs. He has performed this show with some of the best musicians in the business in upstate New York, Quebec City, Montreal, Phoenix and the M Casino in Las Vegas. 

Scott’s true one-man tribute to Johnny made its World Premiere at New York City’s famed Feinstein’s/54 Below in 2018: “Late and Alone: An Intimate Evening with Johnny Cash.” Late And Alone features all of Johnny’s hits and some deeper dives into the man’s music, as well as more in-depth stories about Johnny’s life. It spans nearly 50 years of his musical life, featuring songs from his American Recordings including his iconic epitaph, “Hurt.”

Moreau is from Litchfield and holds a BFA in music theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University. After a lifelong dream of being a professional baseball player, Scott turned to the stage after seeing a life-changing performance of “Les Misérables” in London his freshman year of high school. Through his years in high school and college, he found a love for not only musical theater but choral singing, directing, sound design, and stage combat.

As reviewer Bill Hirschman wrote in Florida Theater on Stage, “Scott Moreau steps into Cash’s boots and they are the perfect fit … Moreau has discovered a way to evoke the essence of the American icon without performing an all-out impersonation. He nails the dual personality described in Johnny’s own words: ‘Johnny is the nice one. Cash causes all the trouble.’” 

“Lincoln County Television is welcoming fall with community partnerships that bring friends and neighbors together in person. Our LCTV Classic Concert Series is four Sundays at 2 p.m. of headlining tribute bands. “Each show is an affordable $30 for local music lovers to get out of the house and have some fun this winter,” said Larry Sidelinger, LCTV executive director.

The concerts are fundraisers for Lincoln County Television, our community's local, non-profit, homegrown resource for news, sports, entertainment, and essential updates.
