Blasting is complete and Maine Department of Transportation has been working nights again, according to an MDOT email. Pike has excavated all the blasted ledge from the new parking lot, graveled the area and laid out the stone pad for the retaining wall's concrete footing.

Subcontractor Moulison Heavy Electrical has been installing foundations for the lighted bollards along the new sidewalk on Railroad Avenue.

Pike was set move back to day work Aug. 20, to prepare Railroad Avenue, Water Street and the new parking lot for paving. Paving is tentatively set to start Aug. 26, depending on weather.
