Moving to the music on Wiscasset common

The first Alive on the River concert for summer 2015 drew a range of ages to the Wiscasset common July 2.

Listeners faced downhill to take in performances by Christian rock band Chasing the Light.

Keller Williams sponsored Thursday night’s event.

The outdoor concert series is a joint effort of the Wiscasset Parks & Recreation Department and the Wiscasset Area Chamber of Commerce.

Many attendees bring chairs or blankets to sit on during the weekly events; some also bring their dogs along. Admission is free to the concerts on the common, uphill from Wiscasset’s downtown and the Sheepscot River.

Next up is country and rock band Dyer Neck Gang at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, sponsored by Le Garage and Davison Construction. The series continues through Aug. 13.
