Roxanne Marie Reed, 80 of Boothbay passed away after a brief illness at her home Jan. 10, 2024 surrounded by family.

Rocky was born in Boothbay Harbor on April 17, 1943 to Warren and Florence (Emerson) Barter. She grew up on Barters Island and attended local schools.

In 1960, she met and married Eugene F. Reed Sr.

Rocky worked for many years as a housekeeper at St. Andrews Hospital and as a laundry attendant at many local hotels after the closing of St. Andrews.

She was a huge Elvis Presley fan, enjoyed crafting, playing cards and other games, collecting Elvis memorabilia, and loved visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her three children, Eugene F. Reed Jr., Warren E. Reed of Boothbay, Angela E. Reed of Damariscotta; brother Gregory Barter, Ernest Barter, Stanley Barter; sisters Terri Little, Libby Dobson, Polly Brewer and their families; brothers-in-law Morris Dickinson, Carlton Giles; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Barter and Lucy Barter; three grandchildren, Erik Nost, Nathan Reed and Lenore Dubois; six great-grandchildren, all of Massachusetts.

Besides her parents, Rocky was predeceased by her husband, Eugene F. Reed Sr., sister, Elaine Dickinson, and brothers Thomas Barter and Samuel Barter.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 13 at the Knights of Pythias Hall in Boothbay Harbor from 1 to 4 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
