“Chef,” written and directed by Jon Favreau in the title role is the story of Chef Carl Casper who suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Dustin Hoffman). Casper eventually finds himself in Miami, where he teams up with his ex-wife, his ex-wife's husband, his friend and his son to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen and zest for life and love.

“Chef” also stars Sofía Vergara, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Oliver Platt, Bobby Cannavale, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Downey, Jr.

“Chef” is rated R (for language). It plays thru Saturday, July 26 at 7 p.m.

“How To Train Your Dragon-2,” DreamWorks Animation returns to the world of dragons and Vikings in this sequel to their successful 2010 outing “How to Train Your Dragon.”

Set in the mythical world of burly Vikings and wild dragons, and based on the book by Cressida Cowell, the action comedy tells the story of Hiccup, a Viking teenager who doesn't exactly fit in with his tribe's longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. Hiccup's world is turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges him and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune describes “How To Train Your Dragon-2” as “a thoughtful tale as meaningful for grownups as it is pleasurable for its young primary audience.” And the Miami Herald describes the film as “one of the most beautiful animated films ever made.”

“How To Train Your Dragon-2” is rated PG. It plays Sunday, July 27 with two shows at 3 and 7 p.m. and Monday, July 28 through Wednesday, July 30 at 7 p.m.
