Well, apparently it's winter! That was (too) quick. 

Firewood donations: The Town of Westport Island is accepting donations of cut, dry, ready-to-burn firewood to make sure all our neighbors stay toasty warm. Reach out to Selectboard Chair Donna Curry if you are interested in donating or receiving firewood.

Public Sand Shed: You know it's coming. When the snow (or ice, or wintry mix) flies, be ready with some sand from our new public sand shed! The public sand shed is located on the Town Office parking lot, to the left of the large sand and salt shed. It's the one that's open, and full of sand, can't miss it. Please limit yourself to two buckets per storm so there's plenty for everyone else. 

Snowmobile Registrations: Before you hit the trails, get those sleds legal online or here in the office. 

2024 Hunting & Fishing Licenses: As of Dec. 1, you can purchase 2024 Hunting & Fishing licenses. These make great Christmas presents! And you can do it online. Great for all those hard-to-buy-for folks in your life! 

2024 Dog Licensing: All dogs over 6 months old need to be licensed every year! 2024 licensing is going on now through the end of January. You'll need a current rabies vaccination certificate. Do it online, do it over the phone, do it here, but do it soon to avoid hefty late fees. Don't end up in the dog house!   

Town Website & Email switch to .gov: Big changes are afoot at the Town Office! We were recently approved by Uncle Sam to have a web address ending in .gov. This is much more secure for us and you. The website is still westportisland.us for now, but the end of our emails have all changed to @westportisland.gov. You will still be able to email us at our old emails for a while. We'll be switching the website over sometime soon, at the same time that we make a switch to a totally new website! Exciting! 

WCA Winter Holiday Fest: Get in the holiday spirit with ornament making, dreidel making, singing, snacking, and Christmas tree and Menorah lighting! Saturday, Dec. 9, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Old Town Hall on 1217 Main Road.
