Westport Island Town Clerk Gaye Wagner has released the calendar for absentee voting, the 2015 town meeting and  RSU 12 elections.

Nomination papers for town offices will become available starting April 2 and must be submitted by May 12.

On April 6, Superintendent Howard Tuttle of RSU 12 will present the school budget at the selectmen’s meeting at 7 p.m. at the town office.

Absentee voting on the budget will begin on May 7. The validation vote on the school budget will take place on June 9 between noon and 8 p.m. at the town hall.

On May 26, absentee voting on the town meeting secret ballot will begin. The 2015 town meeting secret ballot vote will be held between 8 a.m. and noon on June 26.

The following morning, June 27, the town meeting will begin again at 9 a.m. for a review of any remaining articles on the town warrant.

Other news

The summer months will be busy ones for Westport Town Hall. Selectmen have approved the use of the building on Saturday mornings beginning July 4 by certified yoga instructor Susan Gallagher. Gallagher’s classes will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 and will continue until Labor Day weekend. The classes are free, but donations are accepted and will be contributed to the Town Hall Fund.
