On April 15 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline received information that Kris Sliker, 57, of Wiscasset had violated his current conditions of release. A former friend of Sliker notified the police.

A statement was obtained from the witness and Chief Cline subsequently began an investigation. The witness indicates that Sliker provided marijuana to the same 16-year-old juvenile from the previous case. That all three of them smoked it at Sliker’s residence the day before at approximately 5 p.m..

Sliker having contact with the juvenile is a violation of his conditions of release. The witness also informed Chief Cline that Sliker had caused the juvenile to write a letter recanting his original statement regarding buying a joint from Sliker, which was forwarded to his attorney for use in his defense.

As a result of the investigation Chief Cline validated the conditions were still in effect from Sliker’s arrest on March 12 for aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, marijuana. After confirming this information Chief Cline followed up with Sliker when he arrived home at approximately 1350 hours. A drug K9 was requested to conduct a search of the residence for the presence of any illegal drugs. Detective Scott Hayden arrived with his K9, Koda, and conducted a search of the residence.

Officers located a useable amount of marijuana in a mason jar in the residence. This too was a violation of his conditions of release. Sliker admitted under Miranda that he possessed the marijuana without a Medicinal Marijuana Certificate the previous evening.

He was subsequently arrested and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail (TBRJ) on the following charges: violation of conditions of release (VCR); aggravated furnishing in scheduled drugs, Marijuana; and tampering with a witness.

Sliker made his initial appearance on the charges on April 16. He was subsequently held without bail on a bail revocation for the underlying original charge. Bail was set on the new charges at $10,000 cash bail. He also had additional conditions of release added which included no contact direct or indirect with either witness in these two cases.
