Wiscasset selectmen are planning a closed-door discussion Monday, Oct. 3 to discuss the disposition of property, the town announced in an email Wednesday.

The executive session regards the former Wiscasset Primary School, Selectmen’s Chairman Judy Colby said in a phone interview. She could not comment further at this time, she said. Asked if a board vote may follow the executive session, Colby said it’s possible. It will depend on how the discussion develops, she said.

The meeting is set for 5 p.m. Monday in the municipal building hearing room, Wednesday’s email states. A visit to the town’s wastewater treatment plant, in connection with budget planning, will be rescheduled, the email adds.

The school closed in 2015. Wiscasset consolidated to two schools, making Wiscasset Middle School into Wiscasset Elementary School and moving grades seven and eight to Wiscasset High School, now Wiscasset Middle High School.

Reached Wednesday, Tim Dunham Realty real estate agent Sherri Dunbar, who has been marketing the school property and numerous others for the town, declined comment about the upcoming meeting. Dunbar has said the school property was first listed at $749,000, then was lowered to $649,000 and $595,000. Selectmen decided Aug. 22 to lower the price to $525,000. Lincoln County Healthcare leased part of the building for several months as a training site.
