Lobsterman Stott Carleton sets some lobster traps on the Sheepscot River in late June aboard the Edna Mae. Carleton was quoted in the October 1, 2007 issue of Working Waterfront in response to a proposed Wiscasset coal-gasification project saying, “There’s only one Sheepscot River in the whole world. The best lobsters in the world are caught in our river.” The project was defeated in the November 2007 referendum election. GARY DOW/Wiscasset Newspaper
Seven gulls put the old pilings in Wiscasset Harbor to good use. Since the day we are born we are all taught to share but apparently each gull prefers its very own piling. GARY DOW/Wiscasset Newspaper
