A true community newspaper

The Boothbay Register is a community newspaper that has served the Midcoast Maine towns of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Southport and Edgecomb since 1876.

Our main goal has always been to keep residents and visitors up to date on the people, places and events that come together to make the fabric of our community.

Tourism, shipbuilding and fishing have remained the primary economic mainstays over the decades. The Boothbay peninsula boasts not only an active year-round community, but is the summer home of hundreds of cottage owners, some of them fourth and fifth generation, from all across the country.

Our reporters, columnists and contributors keep the community in touch what's happening in the Boothbay region.

The paper covers community events, news, arts, education, sports and much more.

With the 2012 launch of our new, free website, the Boothbay Register now stands at the forefront of the local news movement and provides an even greater service to the community.
