Dear Editor:

Maine has neither a large population nor many industries that release large amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Maine does have 12 million acres of forest that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. It would seem that today Maine removes more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than it releases.
