Castle Tucker, built in 1807, was the dream home of Judge Silas Lee and his wife Tempe, who enjoyed an elegant lifestyle in their unusual new mansion. In 1858, Richard Tucker Jr. and his young wife Mollie moved into the house, immediately turning it into a fashionable Victorian home for their family of five children, who went on to live extraordinary lives outside Wiscasset. Very little was changed in the house after 1900, so visitors see the interiors as the Tuckers left them, filled with their furnishings, belongings and décor, including the 1858 parlor and a kitchen with four generations of cooking technology still in place where it was used.
Historic New England is very grateful for the support of 2025 sponsors Dead River Company, First National Bank, Sherri Dunbar Tim Dunham Realty, Big Barn Coffee and Wiscasset Creative Alliance.
