Dear Editor:

Wayne Farrin’s record of full participation in his role supporting his constituents at the State House has been stellar. The website My Rep Tracker reports that he has missed only one floor vote during the last session, voting a total of 81 times. A review of his voting record on supporting public schools and our working families has been consistently positive. From the revision of the Funding Formula providing increased fairness in School Funding from the State to LD 1664 An Act to End Discrimination and provide remedies for education discrimination. He cosponsored a Bill to support Adult Education and workplace Development that passed. He is acutely aware of the tax burden on working families and retired people and throughout this term, has actively worked on ways to make things fairer.

These are not talking points. This is evidence of a working legislator supporting our school communities and families at the state level. A man who listens to his constituents and acts.

We need legislators who focus on what is best for our children and families. We don’t need complaints of what is not working and finger pointing at those who are doing the work of teaching and administrating. The need is for solution-based conversations, and Wayne Farrins’s approachability has been a benefit to all of us.

Another term for Wayne Farrin is what is needed. We need an experienced legislator working for us in Augusta.
