WMHS Class of 2026’s ‘Top Scholars’
Wiscasset Middle High School is pleased to announce the three seniors in the Class of 2026 who have earned the distinction of being a “Top Scholar." To be recognized as a “Top Scholar," a senior must hold a cumulative (four-year) grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Olivia Marshall, valedictorian: During Marshall's four years at Wiscasset Middle High School, she had a love for sports and played on the soccer and basketball teams all four years of high school. She was the captain of the soccer team junior and senior years and captain of the basketball team freshman, sophomore and senior years. She was on the Prom Committee her junior year.
Marshall held the title of president of her class all four years. She was a member of the WMHS Student Council freshman-junior years and president her senior year. She was a member of National Honor Society her sophomore, junior and senior years. During sophomore year, she received the Sophomore Top Scholar Award as well as being nominated for Smith College Book Awards her junior year. Marshall has always been on the highest honor roll and received the Maine Principals Association Award senior year where she secured a $1,000 scholarship.
Marshall will be working at Five Islands Lobster Co. after graduation, while exploring her passion for photography. She is the daughter of Jessica and John Marshall of Wiscasset.
Noah Ruzyckij, salutatorian: During Ruzyckij’s time at Wiscasset Middle High School, he was on the WMHS Student Council his freshman and sophomore years. Ruzyckij attended Bath Tech for electrical his junior and senior years. He was nominated Student of the Semester at Bath Tech his senior year.
Ruzyckij has worked for Gilman Electric for over a year and is currently taking a class to receive his CDL Class A License. When he isn’t working or attending school, you can find Ruzyckij fishing and hunting in his spare time.
Ruzyckij will be attending Kennebec Valley Community College for the lineman program in the fall. He is the son of Katie and Joe Ruzyckij of Wiscasset.
Erik Dube: During Dube's time at Wiscasset Middle High School, he was a voting member of the WMHS Student Council his freshman year. During his sophomore and senior years, he was an active member of Dungeons and Dragons, a club that was created during after school hours for all those who loved the game.
Junior and senior year, he was in the Tech Club where he ran arcade night fundraisers offering a free night of fun for the community. Dube competed not once but twice in the Windstorm Challenge at University of Maine in Orono. He was nominated Student of the Semester his junior year at WMHS.
Dube will be attending Saint Joseph's College of Maine in the fall for nursing. He is the son of Rachel and John Waite of Wiscasset.
