The town of Newcastle will hold its open town meeting on Monday, June 20, at 7 p.m. at the dining commons at Lincoln Academy.

The town held the first part of its town meeting on June 14, at the Community Room at the Fire Station on River Road, with voting hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The secret ballot portion of the town meeting included the election of one selectman/assessor/overseer of the poor for a three-year term, and two members of the Great Salt Bay School Committee for a three-year term.

The town also voted on validation of both the secondary school budget and the Great Salt Bay School budget.

The results of those races were not immediately available.

The remainder of the warrant articles, including the municipal budget, as well as changes to the finance committee and additional responsibilities for the selectmen, will occur at the open meeting, now scheduled for Monday, June 20.
