Alice B. Lee

On Aug. 18, 2019, Alice Brewer Lee passed away peacefully at the age of 92.

She was born Nov. 23, 1926 in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, the daughter of Arnold Sr. and Madeleine Auld Brewer. Alice lived most recently in Hanover, Maryland.

Alice graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School in 1944 and then graduated from Wilfred Beauty Academy in Boston. With her love of travel, she moved to Seattle, Washington, where she met her husband Allen Lee. They were married in 1954 and had two children, Adria and Andru. In the 1960s they relocated to Glen Burnie, Maryland, to raise their family. Then, from 1973 to 1979, they lived in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, until her husband’s retirement. As snowbirds, she spent her time between Boothbay Harbor, Maine and Zephyrhills, Florida for over 20 years. Alice resided in Hanover, Maryland, with her children for the past five years.

She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), and the American Legion Auxiliary. Alice enjoyed playing the gut bucket with her friends and passing around the guestbook at the Tugboat Inn in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. She also liked dancing, playing golf and traveling. Known for her cookies and muffins, Alice was very good at cooking and baking. Most especially, she loved spending time with her family and her many dear friends.

Devoted wife of the late Allen Lee, she is survived by her children, Adria Lee Sibilly, Hanover, Maryland and Andru Lee, Severn, Maryland; her granddogs Kissy and Moxie; and her loving nieces and nephew.

Alice was predeceased by her parents, Arnold Sr. and Madeleine Auld Brewer; brother Arnold Brewer Jr.; sister, Ruth Brewer Adams; her son-in-law Edward Sibilly; her daughter-in-law, Lyn Lee; and her longtime companion David Lupprian.
