Want to help provide for Wiscasset youths’ success? Find your way to Ames Supply on Route One in Wiscasset between 7:30 and 1:30 on Saturday, July 18, and purchase some wonderful, home baked treats:cookies, bars, pies, jams and jellies, and so much more.

The sale is also an opportunity to find out about the work of local group Feed Our Scholars/Set For Success. Last year, the group provided $12,000 worth of school supplies for Wiscasset students, grades Pre-K to grade 12.Set For Success provides to all so that any who struggle to prepare for the start of school need not worry. This event is a celebration of community and of the community’s future in the form of its children.

The supplies will be available at the group’s celebratory Set For Success event at Wiscasset Community Center on Gardiner Road on Sunday, Aug. 16, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Wiscasset students, accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult, will choose their particular supplies, receive a new school spirit-themed backpack if they choose, and take part in other activities.

Of course, bake sales alone cannot meet the need.Donations of in-kind supplies help greatly. As you shop, encountering good deals on markers, crayons, notebooks, etc., pick up what you are able and drop off at locations: The First on Gardiner Road and  St. Philip’s Church hall, 12 Hodge St.
