Christmas Fair call for crafters

Thu, 11/20/2014 - 1:00pm

St. Philip’s Church in Wiscasset is mounting its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cathy Tyler and Kristen Cowing, Fair chairs, are calling for craftspeople who would like another venue for displaying their fine wares. Tyler hopes a lot of crafters will be involved to help give the event a festive feeling. Crafters are encouraged to call St. Philip’s at 207-882-7184 to leave a message with phone number. Tyler or Cowing will return the inquiry in a timely fashion.

Along with the craft show, the church people will be selling wreaths, large and small, plain and decorated, made from locally harvested greens. Many people count on the fair to purchase their holiday door and table adornments.

Time a visit to the Fair in time to devour the homemade tomato soup and corn bread luncheon. No cans opened for this soup! The topper, however, is the truly festive gingerbread with real whipped cream. Talk about comfort food!

So, put this event on your calendar, and come to St. Philip’s, 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Whether a crafter wanting to sell wares, the rest of us looking for neat, handmade presents, or someone wanting a tasty luncheon, come on down!
