Wiscasset participated in the Richmond Bobcat Shootout on Aug. 22 and played four games against 11-man squads.
The Wolverines posted a 1-2-1 record. Teams from Richmond, Erskine Academy, Mountain Valley and Wiscasset participated. Wiscasset beat Richmond Two, 2-1; tied Mountain Valley, 1-1; and lost to Erskine Academy 1, 2-0; and lost Erskine Academy 2, 3-0.
In each contest, Wiscasset played with 11 men. Coach Shanon Cotta was pleased with his team's impressive start. "We displayed tremendous grit during the last game against a strong Erskine Academy Varsity squad losing 3-0," Cotta said. "We played established powerhouses and successful soccer programs in higher conferences."
Teagan Marr scored two goals and had one assist. Gavin James scored one goal and one assist. The Wolverines return to 8-man soccer on Monday, Aug. 31 hosting Searsport in a preseason match.
