Evening program on vernal pools April 2
The next meeting of the Garden Club of Wiscasset is on Thursday, April 2 at the First Congregational Church (fellowship hall), 28 High Street in Wiscasset. The program at 6 p.m. is presented by the Chewonki Foundation- Traveling Natural History Programs.
This hour long presentation will focus on vernal pools. Attendees will develop an understanding of the nature of a vernal pool and its impact on amphibian and invertebrate life cycles. You will be amazed that a wetland that holds water for a few months is so crucial for biodiversity. This is a free program and open to the public.
