The Friends of Wiscasset Village will meet at 8 a.m.  Jan.  18 at Sarah’s Cafe over coffee and tea, to further plan spring events and communication through the winter.

On Dec. 14, the group discussed possible public spring events. Besides helping plan for events such as the Wiscasset Art Walk, especially during the Maine Department of Transportation construction process, the group hopes to have other programming to appeal to shoppers and families. “Right now we’re just batting around ideas,” Pat Cloutier of the Wiscasset Area Chamber of Commerce said.

The group’s logo and tagline development continues; the current draft was popular with nearly everyone at the meeting. Some of the spring events may play off Wiscasset’s “prettiest village” moniker, which is honored in the current logo and tagline, but nothing is settled, according to Cloutier.
