Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: 2 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 225 calls for service for the period of May 13 and May 20. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 5,015 calls for service.
Summons
Alissa A. Sprague, 43, of Damariscotta was issued a summons May 15 for Violating Condition of Release, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
Arrests
Timothy M. Brown, 47, of Whitefield was arrested May 13 for Harassment and Terrorizing, on Cooper Road, Whitefield, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
James Carver, 42, of Whitefield was arrested May 18 for Violating Condition of Release, on Main Street, Whitefield, by Sgt. Kevin Dennison.
Accidents
On May 13, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving David M. Witas, 56, of Lewiston; Rendall H. Tibbetts, 41, of Boothbay Harbor and Rhonda J. James, 60, of Dresden. Mr. Tibbetts was operating his 2017 Honda Civic northbound, behind Ms. James’ 2019 Ford Ranger, near the Cross Road. James slowed for traffic ahead and Tibbetts stopped behind her. Mr. Witas was operating his 2020 Nissan Sentra, also northbound, and when he came around a corner, he did not stop in time. As a result, Witas struck Tibbetts' vehicle in the rear, pushing Tibbetts' vehicle into James’ vehicle. Mr. Witas stated he was distracted and looked down for a moment before he struck Tibbetts vehicle. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On May 15, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Mark Bailey, 59, of Sidney. Mr. Bailey was operating his 2025 Freightliner Cascadia southbound when he struck a deer in the roadway. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On May 16, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Whitefield involving Jonathyn D. Gurney, 18, of Whitefield. Mr. Gurney was operating his 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when he came around a corner and observed a deer in the roadway. Gurney swerved to miss the deer and his vehicle went off the roadway on the right, rolled over several times, before coming to a stop on its roof. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On May 17, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Whitefield involving Joshua K. Jacobson, 20, of Gardiner. Mr. Jacobson was operating his 2019 Chevrolet Silverado westbound in heavy rain conditions, when he encountered standing water in the road and hydroplaned. This caused him to lose control and go off the roadway and into a ditch, where his vehicle then struck a tree, causing damage to the front passenger corner of his vehicle. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On May 18, an accident occurred on River Road in Dresden involving Brian A. Mayers, 56, of Richmond. Mr. Mayers was operating his 2012 Volvo S60 southbound when a deer came out in front of his vehicle and was struck, causing driver’s side front end damage. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
