Golfweek magazine has released its 2026 rankings of the best golf courses in the United States, and Boothbay Harbor Country Club has once again earned national recognition. Following a rigorous evaluation by Golfweek’s expert rating panel, the club was named one of the Top 100 Resort Courses in the United States.
This distinction marks the sixth consecutive year Boothbay Harbor Country Club has earned a place in the Top 100 of Golfweek’s prestigious national list, reinforcing its reputation as one of the country’s premier resort golf destinations.
Paul Coulombe, owner of Boothbay Harbor Country Club, said: “For more than a decade, I’ve had the pleasure of investing in the golf course and enhancing both the course and the amenities we offer. It has truly been a labor of love. Being included on this prestigious list of the best courses in the United States is a tremendous honor. To be recognized alongside iconic golf destinations such as Pebble Beach and Pinehurst is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team. Every year, we have thoughtfully enhanced the course – crafting challenging holes that showcase our natural surroundings and stunning vistas.
“We remain deeply committed to excellence and to delivering an exceptional experience for our members and guests. Visitors staying in our Golf Villas or Cottages enjoy membership privileges and access to our amenities – including restaurants, a wellness center, tennis and pickleball courts, a luxurious spa, and boating excursions -- creating a truly immersive experience. In the spring and fall, we also offer flexible stay and play options with two-night and three-night packages. We invite guests to come experience not only our course and amenities, but everything the beautiful Boothbay Harbor region has to offer.”
Golfweek’s rankings are widely regarded as one of the most respected benchmarks in the golf industry. Following the extensive evaluation, Golfweek’s experts provided insight into the ranking process.
Jason Lusk, senior editor of Golfweek, explained, “Golfweek’s Best courses are judged by the publication’s national panel of more than 800 raters. The panel focuses on the quality of shaping and conditioning, as well as the overall experience. Any course that ranks inside Golfweek’s Top 100 Resort Courses is worthy of further inspection and is almost certain to provide a great round of golf. There are no sure things in life, but a day on any of these courses comes close.”
Armand Cimaroli, senior director, Golfweek added, “Boothbay Harbor Country Club has consistently demonstrated the high standards required to be among the best courses in the United States. The exceptional design, maintenance, and overall experience provided by Boothbay Harbor Country Club make it a standout destination for golf enthusiasts visiting Maine.”
