The Railway Village Museum is proud to share opportunities for the community to get involved on the museum campus. Would you like to learn something new? Share your passion for history with others? Perhaps broaden your circle of friends?
People volunteer for many reasons, and at many deserving organizations. But consider the Railway Village Museum, a special place that draws thousands to the Midcoast every year, as it has for the 60+ years.
We need your help. We are a volunteer-driven non-profit, and we operate only with the support of volunteers.
From helping to plan special events to leading tours of the antique auto exhibit or greeting guests on the Freeport Station platform … to planting and caring for our window boxes and gardens … there is something here for anyone’s interest and skills. We provide training and great rewards. If you’ve never visited the Village or taken the train ride, come. You’ll see what a special place it is, what a wonderful organization it is for our local and broader community. You can help.
We’re excited to share our incredible lineup of fall events and encourage you to get involved with one or all! The opportunities to get involved include assisting with parking, vendors, ticket sales, setup and teardown, driving a tractor for barrel rides, and so much more.
• Family Harvest Day: Oct. 3 | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Fall Foliage Festival: Saturday, Oct. 10 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 11 | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Railway SPOOKtacular: Oct. 31 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• North Pole Express: Weekends Dec. 5-20 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
