Independence At Home is a new program, designed to promote senior independence, assist with routine, provide opportunities for socialization, and it even has some unique options for volunteering. You can remain were you want to be, in your own home. The staff will assess your care and safety needs, listen to your concerns, and develop a plan that suits you and your family.

Independence At Home is unique as Gayle Webber, program coordinator, makes a special point of matching just the right caregiver with the senior at home. The senior is in charge of directing care, and great care is giving to work within the preferences of each individual. Each senior is encouraged and supported to participate in family and community events, and receives just the right amount of gentle assistance so he/she feels supported to maintain dignity and choice.

Each care plan is very flexible, and can include everything from a daily visit to bring in a newspaper, listen to a story, or do some light housekeeping, to something more time-intensive, or simply a weekly visit for companionship. Some may just want a trip to the grocery store, or a friend to talk with. The plans are designed to meet your present needs, and can change with time, as determined.

Most people want to stay in their own home as long as possible, and Independence at Home can help. Seniors stay involved with their hobbies, and have an active social life, while enjoying their home in a safe and independent way.
