Louisa Crane, program development specialist for Knox- Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District, will talk on “Invasive Plants of Midcoast Maine." If you have wondered why everyone is talking about invasive plants, how they got here and how do they harm local ecosystems, your questions will be answered. Attendees will learn what plants are problematic and what native plants can be used that support Maine’s diverse wildlife and ecosystem. Crane will also discuss key invasive plants in our area and explore control and prevention strategies.
Attendees may bring samples of plants from their property for identification. Make sure samples are secured in a plastic ziplock bag or sealed container.
