Jean M. Dube

Jean M. (Gardner) Dube of Barters Island, Maine passed on May 13, 2018. She was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on May 15, 1931, one of six children of Richard Gardner and Elizabeth (Rooney) Gardner. She attended parochial schools in Lynn and graduated from St Mary’s Girls High School.

She began her career as a stenographer at Lynn City Hall. In 1950 she married Henry Dube, her childhood sweetheart, who passed away in 1995. For many years they lived in North Andover, Massachusetts and brought up their children there. She had been employed as a Procurement Specialist for the U.S. General Services Administration at the Andover IRS Center and later as an Administrative Assistant to the CFO of Hampshire Fabrics of North Andover before retiring and moving to Maine in 1989.

Mrs. Dube enjoyed volunteer work and was an active member of the Boothbay Civic Association for many years and was on the Board of Directors and President of the Friends of the Library Used Book Store. 

Surviving are two sons, Richard and his wife, Nancy, of Andover, Massachusetts and John and his partner, Pat Roche, of North Andover, Massachusetts; two daughters, Joanne Pendergast and her husband, William, of Methuen, Massachusetts and Jeanne Lombardo and her husband, David, of North Andover, Masssachusetts; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Bothwell of Hampstead, New Hampshire, David Dube, Jr of Epping, New Hampshire, Olivia Pendergast of Methuen, MA and Lucas Lombardo of North Andover, Massachusetts, and two great grandchildren. She has one surviving sister, Kathleen Murphy of Oriental, North Carolina.
 
Her son David, her three brothers, Richard Gardner, Arthur Gardner and Phillip Gardner, as well as her sister, Margaret Bresten, predeceased her.
